This is an AMAZING little (FREE)  tool, simple to install, and it checks everything you post online as well as gmail emails before they are sent.

Choose your platform:

I use the Chrome plugin.

Once you have installed it, you will see a little icon (attachment 1) in the address bar of your browser.

When you click on it, and on options, select everything and choose English (attachment 2).

As you start typing anything online, you will see (attachment 3).

When you click on that, it will underline all your mistakes. Click on an underlined word and it will give you suggestions on how to change the writing to be correct.

If you don’t use any of the above programs, please use, this is an online checker that works in exactly the same way, but you need not install anything.

If you have any questions, please use the comment field or the “ask a question” gadget to the left. Alternatively, you can contact us on skype or google chat.

Common spellos

NOT excercise, exercize

NOT independant

NOT existance

NOT publically

bowl (that we eat out of)
NOT bowel (digestive system!)

Please check your work in a spell checker. Word has a nice one. Go to Options and set it to be in Formal American (US) English.

Do not use slang, saying things like “gonna”, don’t, isn’t. Write going to, do not, is not. (this also helps your word count!) 😉
